National parks & sanctuaries of Maharashtra
Maharashtra is home to 6 diverse National Parks and numerous Wildlife Sanctuaries, spanning across the Western Ghats (Sahyadris) and the dry deciduous forests of Vidarbha. For competitive exams like MPSC, detailed knowledge of these protected areas — including their districts, established years, key rivers, endangered species, and status under Project Tiger — is highly scoring.
