Documents required

  • 10th certificate and marksheet

  • Trade qualification certificate — ITI certificate, HTV Driving Licence (for Driver post)

  • Domicile / Permanent Residence Certificate of your home state

  • Category certificate — SC/ST/OBC/EWS if applicable

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Scanned photograph (white background) and signature

How to prepare

  • Physical fitness: Start running now. 5 km in 24 minutes requires 2–3 months of regular daily training — do not leave it for the last week

  • CBT: Study from NCERT Class 9–10 for Reasoning, GK, Maths, and English/Hindi at the 10th standard level

  • Trade Test: Do not apply for a trade you cannot practically demonstrate. The trade test eliminates candidates who have paper eligibility but no real skill

  • Negative marking: Avoid blind guessing — each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, and random guessing across 100 questions will hurt your score

CRPF is India's largest Central Armed Police Force with over 3 lakh personnel. Frequently asked questions

Can candidates from other states apply?

Constable (Technical & Tradesmen) vacancies are state and UT-specific — you must apply only for the vacancies in the state where you hold a valid domicile or permanent residence certificate. The only exception is the Pioneer Wing (Mason and Electrician), which has 20 all-India posts open to candidates from any state.

What driving licence is needed for the Driver post?

A standard car or light vehicle driving licence is not accepted. The Driver trade requires a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving Licence. Applying without this will result in rejection during Document Verification.

Is CBT the most important stage?

Yes. PET, PST and Trade Test are all qualifying stages — they do not add to your merit score. The final merit list is prepared entirely on CBT marks of candidates who qualify all stages and clear the Medical Examination. The higher your CBT score, the better your selection chances.
